We conducted all statistical analyses with RStudio (version 2022.07.0; R Foundation). Continuous variables were normally distributed. The first set of analyses examined relationships between baseline participant characteristics and baseline CSE Scale score.

Statistical results were prepared using SAS (version 9.4; SAS Institute) and R (version 4.0; R Foundation for Statistical Computing). FGDs were audiotaped, transcribed verbatim, and read several times. A codebook was subsequently developed for deductive coding based on the interview guide and focused on responses related to selected implementation outcomes of reach, appropriateness, effectiveness, and penetration. The codebook was developed by a single team member (ASB) and reviewed with the full team.

To understand the internal structure of ACE-X for adult participants, we began by taking an exploratory approach by fitting a network model using the psychonetrics package in R (R Foundation for Statistical Computing). We fit the partial correlation network model using full information maximum likelihood estimation to handle missing values and then pruned edge weights that failed to reach statistical significance (P>.05).

Hesitancy toward COVID-19 vaccination was particularly high among Black young adults and residents of the United States South [5,6], which translated into lower uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine and a disproportionately high mortality rate for Black Americans early in the pandemic [7,8].
Negative attitudes toward vaccines and suboptimal vaccination rates among Black Americans have been influenced by a history of medical racism and human rights violations in the United States [9-14].

Monte Carlo simulations computed in R (R Foundation for Statistical Computing) were used to estimate the required sample size for our proposed models. Our analyses, based on simulated data, suggest that a total sample size of 300 provides enough statistical power (up to 90%) to detect anticipated effect sizes on primary outcomes of cognitive capacity and cognitive bias based on values from our group and those reported in the literature (CR: d=0.50 and MCT: g=0.27) [9,20,27,31].
