The study complied with the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and its later amendments and was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Lega F. D’Oro, Osimo (AN), Italy (P030820241). Figures 2 reports the data for Liam, Hallie, Logan, and Kali and Figure 3 reports the data for Harper, Jacob, Millie, and Isabel over the different phases of the study. Each data point represents the mean frequency of responses per session over a block (group) of sessions.

The US Food and Drug Administration has approved the use of 3 antiretroviral drugs for Pr EP by MSM: oral emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (F/TDF) in 2012, followed by the availability of generic F/TDF in 2021; oral emtricitabine and tenofovir alafenamide (F/TAF) in 2018; and long-acting injectable cabotegravir (CAB-LA) in 2021. Clinical trials of sexual event-driven Pr EP regimens or 2-1-1 Pr EP using F/TDF have demonstrated it to be highly effective for HIV prevention among MSM [3,4].
