Assessing the Feasibility of Using Parents’ Social Media Conversations to Inform Burn First Aid Interventions: Mixed Methods Study

Bennett et al [14] found 47.4% of attendances for children’s burns at a UK ED to be for scalds, 43.4% for contact burns, and only 4% for sunburn injuries, whereas this study found parents on Mumsnet asked for advice for treating children with contact burns (12/30, 40% of posts) and sunburn (9/30, 30% of posts) more frequently than scald injuries (5/30, 17%).
