Smartphone-Based Intervention Targeting Norms and Risk Perception Among University Students with Unhealthy Alcohol Use: Secondary Mediation Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Trial

Based on Bertholet et al [17], an overestimation of other people’s drinking (coded 1) was defined as a difference between subjective and objective estimations of their DV of >5 percentage points, whereas no overestimation (coded 0) was defined as a difference of ≤5 percentage points. Descriptive statistics were calculated to characterize the sample in terms of age, sex, DV, HDDs, perceived DV norms, perceived HDD norms, perceived risks for health, and overestimation of other people’s drinking.
