In the group that received explainable AI output, psychological trust at the end of the test was significantly lower than that after onboarding (P=.02), which interestingly contradicts hypothesis 6b. In the group that received black box AI output, there was no significant change in psychological trust. Changes in psychological trust scores between after onboarding and at the end of the test were significantly different between the black box output and explainable AI output groups (P=.03).
