The International Diabetes Federation estimates that about 463 million individuals worldwide experience diabetes, with this number expected to reach 700 million individuals by 2045 with 681,100 reported cases in the State of Kuwait [4,5]. This results in an economic burden for individuals with diabetes as each would spend around US $2000 for treatments [6].

This study is part of the Eat Well Q8 study, which aims to investigate whether web-based personalized nutrition (PN; based on dietary intake and anthropometrics) is as effective as face-to-face communication of PN in Kuwait. Kuwait currently has the highest adult obesity levels in the Gulf region [11]. The latest findings indicate that around 78% of adult men and 82% of women in Kuwait are either overweight or obese [12].

SARS-CoV-2 Surveillance in the Middle East and North Africa: Longitudinal Trend Analysis
The MENA region comprises Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Algeria, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia [10].
Responses to COVID-19 in MENA have ranged from restrictive temporary lockdowns to denial and lack of organization [6,11]. Lessons learned from the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), and the 2009 H1 N1 outbreaks inform the current pandemic [12].
