Using the Kirkpatrick Model to Evaluate the Effect of a Primary Trauma Care Course on Health Care Workers’ Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice in Two Vietnamese Local Hospitals: Prospective Intervention Study

Using the Kirkpatrick Model to Evaluate the Effect of a Primary Trauma Care Course on Health Care Workers’ Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice in Two Vietnamese Local Hospitals: Prospective Intervention Study

Road trauma is responsible for 1.3 million deaths and 20-50 million injuries annually with 90% of these occurring in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) [2,3]. It is predicted that the prevalence of road trauma will increase to become the third leading cause of death by 2030 in LMICs [4].

Visual “Scrollytelling”: Mapping Aquatic Selfie-Related Incidents in Australia

Once the user scrolls, the map displays 11 chapters, each showing an individual selfie-related incident in Australia including 9 deaths and 2 serious injuries. All cases reportedly involved emergency services, 3 of which occurred in the same location: Diamond Bay, Vaucluse, a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales. Two cases occurred at Gibraltar Falls, Australian Capital Territory. Further cases in Australia that are included in the map story are detailed in Multimedia Appendix 1.

Identifying and Validating Alcohol Diagnostics for Injury-Related Trauma in South Africa: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

Identifying and Validating Alcohol Diagnostics for Injury-Related Trauma in South Africa: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

In South Africa, approximately a third (31.2%) of alcohol-attributable deaths in 2012 occurred as a result of injuries, while 15.9% and 12.8% of alcohol-attributable disability-adjusted life years were caused by road traffic injuries and interpersonal violence, respectively [11]. The adult per capita consumption of alcohol in South Africa is extremely high (64.6 g of absolute alcohol per drinker per day).

Effect of a Mobile Game–Based Intervention to Enhance Child Safety: Randomized Controlled Trial

Effect of a Mobile Game–Based Intervention to Enhance Child Safety: Randomized Controlled Trial

Injuries remain a top contributor to mortality and disability worldwide, despite a decline on a global level [1]. Notably, children’s natural curiosity, energy, and desire for exploration can make them more susceptible to unintentional injuries [2]. Therefore, it is crucial to provide safety education to protect them from harm.

Peer Review of “COVID-19 National Football League (NFL) Injury Analysis: Follow-Up Study”

Peer Review of “COVID-19 National Football League (NFL) Injury Analysis: Follow-Up Study”

How can the authors be sure that the increase in injuries was due to COVID-19? What is meant by injuries? Soft tissue injuries or concussions? Perhaps an analysis on time-loss injuries would be more beneficial and add value.

Authors’ Response to Peer Reviews of “COVID-19 National Football League (NFL) Injury Analysis: Follow-Up Study”

Authors’ Response to Peer Reviews of “COVID-19 National Football League (NFL) Injury Analysis: Follow-Up Study”

Response: NFL teams are required to report injuries to players throughout the week [12]. Each team reports injuries weekly, to which individual websites were referenced. The NFL website was used in the event a team report was not available in order to resolve any discrepancies. The following was added: “Teams are required to report injuries throughout the week of a game, so any and all information should be considered accurate [12].” 3.

Peer Review of “COVID-19 National Football League (NFL) Injury Analysis: Follow-Up Study”

Peer Review of “COVID-19 National Football League (NFL) Injury Analysis: Follow-Up Study”

Throughout the manuscript [1], including in the title, the authors say they analyzed the prevalence of injuries. This is incorrect. They have not analyzed injury prevalence; they did not even collect the data required for such an analysis. Instead, they collected injury incidence data and analyzed them. The primary component of this study is analyzing publicly available data to make a conclusion. I have a major concern regarding the statistical analysis the authors have performed.
