In addition, we asked for some demographic data, which include age and experience with patient recruiting. The full list of questions and their order is shown in Multimedia Appendix 1. Although some of the questions required a “yes” or “no” answer, participants were given the opportunity to provide more detailed responses in full text, and if they did, we included those responses as well in our analysis.

Studies have shown that using multiple strategies in the recruiting phase may help increase participation related to ACP [46-48]. Chau and colleagues [46] demonstrated that mailing information along with making phone calls to participants is an effective method for increasing their willingness to engage in the ACP process. For this QI project, an assortment of methods were used to recruit participants to the ACP process.

While there is some guidance for the ethical use of social media for recruiting participants for health research [25], little is known about optimizing the use of platforms such as Twitter and Facebook for health-related research recruitment [19,26], such as the contents of the message to be used for targeting eligible individuals.
However, we can infer potential key components of a social media message from other areas using behavioral sciences.

To strengthen the quality of nursing education in DEI to promote the inclusion of underrepresented students, recruiting more diverse nursing educators is essential. Diverse nurse educators provide a diversity of perspectives and faculty to attract aspiring underrepresented minority students.
The objective of this paper is to provide the results of a literature review that introduces DEI concepts for excellence in nurse education and their related benefits.
