The study specifically focuses on experiences of older adults from South Asian, Black African, and Caribbean groups, as they are the 3 largest minoritized ethnic groups in England and Wales [29]. This study focuses on older adults from South Asian, Black African, and Caribbean backgrounds who are at risk of digital exclusion due to barriers such as language and cultural differences. Updated Surveillance Metrics and History of the COVID-19 Pandemic (2020-2023) in Latin America and the Caribbean: Longitudinal Trend Analysis

The first case of COVID-19 in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) [6] occurred in São Paulo, Brazil, and involved a Brazilian national traveling home from Northern Italy [7]. Our research team conducted an analysis of the pandemic in LAC 1 year into the pandemic [8]. This study provides 2 additional years of updated surveillance and epidemiological analysis for the region.

Nonetheless, it appears that Caribbean countries that are geographically close to Latin America initially had effective COVID-19 management [9], with deaths per 100,000 inhabitants in each country ranging from 1.08 to 26.45 [6]. To better understand such disparities, how academic inquiries related to public health are curated and disseminated by Spanish-speaking and Caribbean communities on the internet must be rigorously investigated.

In Latin America and the Caribbean, morbidity and mortality increased from 400,519 cases and 92 deaths in 2000 to >3.1 million cases and 1534 deaths in 2019 [4,5]. Dengue prevention and control in these regions rely on 2 main approaches: vector control programs and traditional surveillance, which is based on passive detection of symptomatic cases (inpatients and outpatients) [4,6].

Developing Culturally Sensitive mHealth Apps for Caribbean Immigrant Women to Use During Pregnancy: Focus Group Study

Caribbean immigrants represent 9% of all immigrant populations in the United States [1]. More than half of the Caribbean immigrants are women. Pregnant women in the United States do not have their first medical visit until between 8-13 weeks into their pregnancy [2,3]. Immigrant women, in particular, do not initiate any type of medical visits because of additional access challenges, including the cost of health care, lack of health insurance, or its limitations [4,5].

To be eligible, each participant must satisfy the following criteria: (1) be a Caribbean immigrant women living in South Florida, (2) low income with an hourly minimum wage paid job, (3) had given birth to at least one child in the United States in the age range of 18 to 30 years and in the last 5 years.
