As described by Hackett and Giovannetti [7] and Leaning et al [66], some of the many interpretive and logistical challenges of digital phenotyping can be mitigated with conceptual models and clinically informed features to provide context to results and improve reproducibility.
In this paper, we present findings from a proof-of-concept study evaluating a smartphone digital phenotyping protocol to assess cognition, everyday function, and mood in a cohort of older adults with and without cognitive decline.
