Data Interoperability in COVID-19 Vaccine Trials: Methodological Approach in the VACCELERATE Project

Data Interoperability in COVID-19 Vaccine Trials: Methodological Approach in the VACCELERATE Project

Interoperability standards provide a common language and set of expectations that enable interoperability between systems and devices. These standards allow clinicians, laboratories, hospitals, pharmacies, and patients to seamlessly share data, regardless of the application or market supplier, thereby improving the coordination and delivery of health care [1].

Implementation of WHO SMART Guidelines-Digital Adaptation Kits in Pathfinder Countries in Africa: Processes and Early Lessons Learned

Implementation of WHO SMART Guidelines-Digital Adaptation Kits in Pathfinder Countries in Africa: Processes and Early Lessons Learned

This results in disjointed digital health ecosystems with inadequate standards that hinder the quality of care, exchange of data, and reporting and hamper continuity of care [5]. To deliver sustainable digital health solutions for country impact, digital system development needs to be based on principles of transparency, accessibility, scalability, and interoperability [6]; be adherent to clinical guidelines [7] and data use and sharing standards; and be guided by national digital strategies.

Technologies for Interoperable Internet of Medical Things Platforms to Manage Medical Emergencies in Home and Prehospital Care: Scoping Review

Technologies for Interoperable Internet of Medical Things Platforms to Manage Medical Emergencies in Home and Prehospital Care: Scoping Review

Table 2 reveals variations in the frequency of the technology and standards used. Consequently, we have summarized the most used technologies and standards in Figure 8. Technologies and standards that appeared in 2 or fewer articles were excluded from Figure 8.

Semantic Interoperability of Electronic Health Records: Systematic Review of Alternative Approaches for Enhancing Patient Information Availability

Semantic Interoperability of Electronic Health Records: Systematic Review of Alternative Approaches for Enhancing Patient Information Availability

The objectives of the WHO strategy include standards for interoperability. Another current large-scale international initiative is the European Health Data Space (EHDS) regulation proposal. EHDS is a health-specific ecosystem comprised of rules, common standards and practices, infrastructures, and a governance framework. It supports the use of health data for better health care delivery, research, innovation, and policy making.

The Necessity of Interoperability to Uncover the Full Potential of Digital Health Devices

The Necessity of Interoperability to Uncover the Full Potential of Digital Health Devices

It aims to provide a comprehensive framework and related standards for exchanging, integrating, sharing, and retrieving electronic health information [13]. The FHIR elements required for PRO questionnaires are Questionnaire and Questionnaire Response. A Questionnaire defines a structured set of questions to guide the collection of answers. In addition to the questions, it also defines the answer types and possible answers.

Guidelines, Consensus Statements, and Standards for the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine: Systematic Review

Guidelines, Consensus Statements, and Standards for the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine: Systematic Review

The remaining 36 articles were included (19 articles involved guidelines, 14 involved consensus statements, and 3 involved standards). The screening process is summarized in the PRISMA flowchart (Figure 1). Flow diagram of the search and selection of articles involving guidelines, consensus statements, and standards. CNKI: China National Knowledge Infrastructure. Considering the full text, we defined the distinction of guidelines, consensus statements, and standards.

Computer-Supported Collaborative Design of Standardized Clinical Cases: Algorithm Development and Validation

Computer-Supported Collaborative Design of Standardized Clinical Cases: Algorithm Development and Validation

Deployment: In this activity, instructors can publish the e-learning packages resulting from the successive transformations into LMSs that support the e-learning standards used to code these content packages. Consumption: In this activity, less advanced students can take advantage of the conventional e-learning courses generated based on the clinical cases produced in the initial collaborative environment. Activity diagram for the collaborative production and exploitation of clinical cases.

Introduction to the Coproduction of Supervision Standards for Digital Peer Support: Qualitative Study

Introduction to the Coproduction of Supervision Standards for Digital Peer Support: Qualitative Study

Although digital peer support has gained traction globally, at present, no formal digital supervision standards have been put in place. Supervision is considered critical for the development of competent mental health workers [6]. Supervision standards have the potential to aid in the transition to telemental health delivery and help telehealth workers to develop the competencies needed for the telemental health services [6].

Exploring the Role of Active Assisted Living in the Continuum of Care for Older Adults: Thematic Analysis

Exploring the Role of Active Assisted Living in the Continuum of Care for Older Adults: Thematic Analysis

A dimension of this is the lack of interoperability between AAL systems and health information systems or among AAL systems abiding by the standards set by different manufacturers. If an entirely new system is required, the data from older devices may not be transferable. This lack of interoperability can add complexity, as care recipients’ data cannot follow them as technology evolves or as they move to different care settings [13,14,29].
